Access to our website is temporary, and we can withdraw or change our website services without notice. Tailor-Made Plates Ltd is not responsible if our website is unavailable at any time.

II. Intellectual Property

All content on this website belongs to Tailor-Made Plates Ltd or its licensors, unless it's content you or other users have uploaded. This includes text, graphics, logos, images, and software, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You can view the content of this website on your computer for your personal, non-commercial use only. You are not allowed to use the content for any commercial purposes without our written permission.

III. Purchasing Products

All orders placed on the Tailor-Made Plates Ltd website need to be accepted by us. You need a valid email address to place an order. Your browser needs to accept cookies for the website to work fully, including designing plates and checking out. More about cookies is in our Privacy and Cookies Policy.

We try to make sure our products match their descriptions, but there might be small differences due to manufacturing or how your computer shows colours.

If you spend too long on the website without doing anything, your shopping cart might empty, and you'll have to start again. Adding items to your cart doesn't reserve them. You are committed to your order when you complete the checkout process. By doing this, you send your order to us as shown in the checkout.

Once we get your order, an automatic confirmation will appear on the website with your order number and details. At this point, our agreement is made. A copy will also be emailed to you. We suggest you save this for your records. Tailor-Made Plates Ltd can refuse to accept your order or cancel it even after sending the confirmation.

This means Tailor-Made Plates Ltd can refuse or cancel any order, even if confirmed, for any reason. If your payment has already been taken for a cancelled order, Tailor-Made Plates Ltd will give you a refund. We can also cancel an order after accepting it if:

  • The product is out of stock (you'll get a refund).
  • Your billing information is incorrect or can't be verified.
  • Our security system flags your order as unusual or possibly fraudulent.
  • There was a mistake in the price.
  • We can't deliver to your address.
  • You might be charged up to £5000 if you try to fraudulently get a vehicle registration plate with fake documents or by lying. Your account and orders will be stopped immediately, your details will be given to the police, and you will have to pay this fee.

It's your job to make sure all vehicle and registration information you give us is correct. Tailor-Made Plates Ltd is not responsible for any mistakes you make, and we don't have to replace items if you made the error. Please double-check everything before submitting your order. If you think you've made a mistake, contact Tailor-Made Plates Ltd right away. However, we might not be able to change your order if it's already being processed or has been sent.

IV. Product Warranty

Tailor-Made Plates Ltd guarantees that the number plates we supply will be free from defects in materials and how they are made for two years from the date of sale. If a plate is found to be defective during this time, Tailor-Made Plates Ltd will repair or replace it for free. You need to return any faulty plates to Tailor-Made Plates Ltd's main address for us to check before we can send a replacement or repair.

This warranty does not cover faults caused by:

  • Using fixings not supplied or recommended by Tailor-Made Plates Ltd, including screws or other adhesives.
  • Damage from vehicle accidents where your insurance covers the damage.
  • Attaching the plates to a vehicle they weren't made for.
  • Not following the fitting instructions provided.
  • Using the plates for anything other than as a vehicle registration plate.
  • For 4D number plates, if they are put on a curved surface. They should be on a flat surface to avoid damage.
  • Normal wear and tear or damage from things outside of our control that aren't manufacturing defects.

To make a warranty claim, you need to tell Tailor-Made Plates Ltd about the problem by phone or email, using the contact details on our website. You might need to send us photos of the defect and your proof of purchase.

V. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Tailor-Made Plates Ltd website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which provides comprehensive details regarding the collection, use, and safeguarding of your personal data. We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy, which can be accessed via a direct link on our website, to understand our practices in detail.

By placing an order, you confirm that the credit/debit card or other payment method you are using is legally yours and that all details you provide to us in respect thereof, including without limitation your name and address, are complete, correct, and accurate. You further confirm that the credit/debit card is valid and that all the inputted payment details are correct. All credit/debit cardholders and payment account holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer or payment method provider. If the issuer of your card or payment method refuses to authorise payment for any reason, we will not accept your order, and we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. Furthermore, we are not obligated to inform you of the specific reason for the refusal.

VII. Shipping and Delivery

All orders placed with Tailor-Made Plates Ltd are shipped directly from our manufacturing facilities. Once your order has been successfully processed and dispatched, tracking information will be provided to you via the email address you supplied during the order process. Please allow up to a specified number of working days for delivery from the date we successfully process your order. The specific delivery timeframe will depend on the shipping method you select during checkout.

Tailor-Made Plates Ltd ships to addresses within the United Kingdom only. We do not currently offer international shipping. Additionally, please note that we are unable to deliver to certain types of addresses, such as P.O. Boxes.

Upon receiving your order, it is your responsibility to inspect the products within a reasonable timeframe. Upon delivery, please carefully examine the packaging for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. If it appears that the packaging or the product itself is damaged, we advise that you either refuse to accept the shipment or, if you do accept it, ensure that you sign for it as "damaged" when you receive it. This will help facilitate any claims for a free replacement if the product is indeed found to be damaged.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tailor-Made Plates Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss or damage, nor shall we be liable for any loss of profits, loss of income or revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of goodwill, or loss of commercial opportunities, whether such losses arise directly or indirectly. XI. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tailor-Made Plates Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against all claims, losses, liabilities, expenses, damages, and costs, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or relating in any way to your use of the website, your conduct in connection with the website or with other website users, any violation of these Terms and Conditions, or any violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

XII. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).

XIII. Compliance with Number Plate Regulations

All number plates manufactured and supplied by Tailor-Made Plates Ltd strictly adhere to all pertinent UK laws and regulations. This includes full compliance with The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 and the current British Standard for number plates, which is BS AU 145e. This standard dictates crucial aspects such as the mandatory use of the Charles Wright font, precise character sizing and spacing, and the reflective properties of the plates. 8 For plates fitted to vehicles registered after September 1, 2021, regulations mandate the use of solid black lettering and the inclusion of the number plate supplier's business name and postcode on the plate itself.

It is the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure that they possess the legal right to display the registration number they provide to Tailor-Made Plates Ltd for the production of their number plates. Tailor-Made Plates Ltd operates as a manufacturer of physical number plates based on the registration details supplied by the customer and does not, under any circumstances, sell or transfer the rights to vehicle registration numbers.

As a registered number plate supplier, Tailor-Made Plates Ltd is legally obligated by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) to verify the identity of our customers and their entitlement to use the registration number they wish to have displayed on their number plates. This is a crucial measure to prevent the production and use of illegal or counterfeit number plates. To comply with these regulations, customers will be required to provide documentation to confirm both their identity and their entitlement to the specified registration number. The following table provides examples of acceptable documents for each purpose:

Customers will be able to provide these documents by uploading clear copies through our website, emailing them to our designated email address, or by posting physical copies to our address. Please note that orders for number plates will only be dispatched once we have received and successfully verified the necessary documentation. This process is in place to ensure full compliance with DVLA regulations aimed at preventing the misuse of vehicle registration plates.

Record Keeping: As a registered number plate supplier, Tailor-Made Plates Ltd is legally required to keep records of all number plates supplied for a minimum period of 3 years. These records include the registration number of the plate, the customer's name and address, evidence of their entitlement to the registration, and a reference number from the identification document provided. These records must be made available to the DVLA, police, and Trading Standards upon request.

XIV. Cancellation and Returns

Please be aware that all number plates sold by Tailor-Made Plates Ltd are personalised and manufactured according to the specific requirements and customisation choices you make during the ordering process. These products are therefore considered bespoke goods.

Due to the personalised nature of the number plates we supply, the standard cancellation period typically afforded to consumers under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply to orders placed with Tailor-Made Plates Ltd Once an order has been submitted and production has commenced, it cannot be cancelled or amended.

Tailor-Made Plates Ltd does not accept returns for correctly produced, non-faulty number plates as they are personalised items. If you believe your number plate has a manufacturing defect covered by our 6-month warranty, please notify us within this period from the date of purchase and provide proof of purchase. We will assess the issue and, if deemed a manufacturing fault, will offer a repair or replacement in accordance with the terms of our warranty. This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

XV. Other Important Terms

These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any other documents expressly referred to within these terms, constitute the entire agreement between you, the user, and Tailor-Made Plates Ltd This agreement supersedes all prior discussions, correspondence, negotiations, previous arrangements, understandings, and agreements, whether oral or written, relating to the subject matter of these terms.

If any provision or part-provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by any court or relevant authority to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision or part-provision shall, to the extent required, be deemed to be severed from these Terms and Conditions, and the validity and enforceability of the other provisions shall not be affected. Alternatively, if it is possible to modify the invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable, the parties agree that such a modification shall be deemed to apply.
